Etiology
Sickle cell anemia is an inherited blood disorder, that it isn’t really caused rather it’s passed from parent to child. Children with sickle cell disease have two defective hemoglobin S genes, one from each parent(webmd.com). Different types of sickle cell disorder occur when a individuals inherits one hemoglobin S gene, which is the sickle cell dominant gene (webmd.com). It is inherited from one parent and one other type of defective hemoglobin gene from the other parent (webmd.com).
